"YOU NEED A VILLAGE TO GROW A CHILD"

When I heard this sentence, I immediately understood what I was missing in my life. The village. A common dimension where to find a real support. 

As a single father, I find very challenging to assume this role. But already, back in the years, to become a father, it has been an acrobatic jump. If you also had and have a feeling of a weird loneliness, to not really know how to do, to feel that nobody is giving you a transmission... Also, feeling the pressure to take care of the baby and the mother. Struggling to balance energies, dialogues, and desires. I totally understand. There is nothing wrong in you, in me. 

We are the village-less. And I believe that our role as fathers has been too much devaluated since generations in our societies. That is  why I feel the urgent call to create this retreat where the relationship between fathers and kids is the key-stone.

A privilege space where to create a quality time with your kids and our brothers. Where we can invoke back the ancient wisdoms of kids  cared by fathers. Honoring the lineage that brought us till here. There is so much to heal, to discover and to manifest. So much to reclaim.

Arts will be at the center of this journey, supporting us to create resilience and trust. This has been fundamental to re-wire my connection with my own father and my inner child. As well as, to become the father I am proud to be today.

We will sing, play, paint, make fires, fish, use shamanic tools to dive deeply into our emotional world, invent rituals and games, connecting with the beauty and the sacredness of nature, creating magic constellations and calling in whatever we need to imagine a new sane, safe and conscious stream of fatherhood.

FOR THE KIDS IT WILL BE AN AMAZING ADVENTURE IN AN HEALTHY AND REGENERATIVE LANDSCAPE

They will be free to run, free to play, free to discover and invent, free to scream, free to bring all their own energy, to move whatever emotion needs to appear.

They will be held by fathers' tribe, all together, in a deep connection and respect with nature, the Big Mother. 

Connection wiht the gifts of the land, with trees and meditation, with the healing flow of ponds and rivers, with the magic of dark nights and the gratitude for the sunrising.

We will invite them to develop intimacy and deep listening, opening a window on the future we want to build together, and healing the thread connecting us to the previous generations.

We will use dance, theater, and painting to draw in space, stories and emotions, to transform from the body, and all the bonds that keep us together. Learning to recognize them, to let them exist, to contain them without repressing. Remembering how to say what is difficult to say. Rediscovering the power of listening. The one without comment, without judgement.

And of course, we will play!

Play, play, play as much as we can. Play till late, itll we can't do it anymore. Playing and celebrating life. Giving the kids the possibility to experiment this carnival moment in which chaos is welcome. Where we invert the roles, and we renew our energies to create expansion in our hearts.

We will be in contact all the time with our heart and our roots, blessing the world behind us an dhonoring the young knights to love stepping into this new life adventure.

We can provide:

* Beds with blankets, sheets and pillows in a sharing camping tent for six/eight people.

* Delicious and healthy food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

* An amazing landscape, in the middle of the countryside in Portugal. Quiet, green, full of abbundance, river, horses, vegetable garden, pond...

* All the props for our activities: fishing, gardening, cooking, horse caring, play games, painting etc.

* The venue is an incredible calm place at one hour twenty minutes from Faro International Airport.

Nature's whispers are gentle and constant. Old oak trees ground the landscape in stillness, olive, fig, and pomegranate, caqui, orange trees, grapes and cactus grow wild. Two lovely horses and some wild animals move around like rabbits, foxes, boars, storks, and their babies. A beautiful river - Rio Vascão, delimits the land on the south border, marking the division between Alentejo and Algarve.
